Linguana Onboarding Guide

Creators

Welcome to Linguana. This guide answers the most common questions creators ask during onboarding and throughout the partnership process. As your global distribution and monetization partner, Linguana helps grow your reach and revenue across more languages, platforms, and advertising opportunities, while handling the operational work for you. The guide below covers payments, analytics access, localized channels, publishing timelines, copyright, monetization, and more.

Partnership & Channel Setup

Information about channel setup, launch and whitelisting.

When will my localized channel start?

A typical launch takes about 2-4 weeks after signing. This includes account setup, branding, language selection, preview videos, review, and launch.

Do you handle channel branding, banners, logos, and channel names?

Yes, we handle everything end-to-end. We create localized branding for each channel, including names, banners, logos, and metadata. We adapt these for the local audience rather than simply copying the original channel branding. No need to send us the original design.

Why is the localized channel name different from my main channel name?

Localized names are chosen to sound natural in the target language and market. Direct translations do not always perform well, so we adapt names to feel native to local viewers.

How do I whitelist the localized channels?

If you do not manage Content ID directly, no action is usually required. If copyright flags appear from our channels, they can generally be ignored manually.

If you manage Content ID directly:

  1. Open your YouTube Content ID dashboard
  2. Go to the Allowlist or Whitelisted Channels section
  3. Add the localized channel URLs we provide

If your Content ID is managed by an MCN or agency, please ask them to whitelist the channels in advance. This helps avoid accidental copyright claims on your own localized content.

My localized channel is live. How do I add featured channels on YouTube?

If you wish to promote your local language YouTube channels from within your main channel, please follow these steps:

  1. Open YouTube Studio
  2. Go to Customization → Layout
  3. Scroll to Featured Sections
  4. Click Add Section
  5. Select Featured Channels
  6. Add the channel URLs you want to feature
  7. Save your changes

The channels will then appear on your homepage.

Do I need to give Linguana access to my YouTube Studio or send videos and files manually?

Linguana’s model is designed to be as effortless as possible for creators, so there is no need to give us access to your YouTube Studio, upload files manually, or send videos and assets on an ongoing basis for us to launch and manage your localized channels. Our team handles the operational side end-to-end, including localization, publishing, channel management, distribution across platforms like MSN, Spotify, and Dailymotion, monetization, and optimization.

Localized Channels and Expansion

How Linguana rolls out your localized YouTube channels

How does the localized YouTube channel program work?

Linguana helps creators launch fully localized versions of their channels in additional languages. Our team manages:

  • Translation and dubbing
  • Voice cloning where appropriate
  • Localization of titles, thumbnails, descriptions, and metadata
  • Publishing and channel management
  • Performance optimization

Revenue generated from localized channels is shared according to the partnership agreement.

Which languages do you support?

We support over 40 global languages, including:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Russian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • And many more

If you have a preferred language or market focus, please mention it during onboarding.

Can I expand to more languages?

Yes. We typically start with a few localized channels and when we see they are performing well, we will recommend expanding into additional languages. You can also contact [email protected] if you are interested in a specific language.

Voices, Dubbing, and Metadata

How Linguana ensures the best experience for your viewers in each language and optimal discoverability.

Do you use pre-made AI voices, or cloned voices of the creators?

We choose the voice approach that best fits your channel and content. Cloned voices may sound closer to the original creator and more natural for the channel, but they can sometimes be less stable. Pre-made AI voices are usually more consistent, especially for multi-speaker content, but may sound less personal. We always select the option that will sound the best for your channel and give your viewers in each language the best possible experience.

How do you decide which videos to localize?

Our strategy team selects videos based on performance data and channel fit. We usually start with a balanced mix and then shift toward top-performing content as the localized channel matures.

Do you translate titles, descriptions, tags, and metadata?

Yes. We translate and localize titles, descriptions, tags, and other metadata for discoverability. We usually do not translate links, social media handles, or sponsor mentions from the original description.

Payment & Earnings

Everything related to payouts, revenue shares, payment methods, and monetization timelines.

When will I get paid, and how are earnings calculated?

Payments are processed quarterly. We typically wait 2 to 3 weeks after each quarter ends for YouTube to finalize revenue data. Once the final numbers are available, we calculate your earnings based on the revenue share in your agreement and process your payment. The overall process takes up to 6 weeks. Please note that there is a minimum payout threshold of $100. Balances below this threshold roll over to the next quarter.

My earnings last quarter were below the $100 threshold. Can I still get paid?

If your earnings do not reach the $100 minimum threshold during a quarter, the balance will roll over to the next quarter. Once combined earnings exceed the threshold, payment will be issued. In special cases, we may process smaller payments upon request.

How do I provide or update my bank details to receive payments?

To receive your revenue share, please make sure we have your current payment details, including IBAN, SWIFT code, and account holder name where relevant. You can submit or update your payment details via the secure payment form shared with you once your channel is monetized.

Why haven’t I received my payment yet?

If your payment has not arrived yet, first check that:

  • Your payment details are up to date
  • Your balance exceeded the minimum payout threshold
  • Any required compliance or tax forms have been completed

Bank processing can sometimes take a few extra business days. If everything looks correct and the payment still hasn’t arrived, please contact the Linguana partnerships team.

When will the localized channel be monetized?

Monetization timing depends on YouTube’s policies and thresholds, including watch hours, subscribers, and content compliance requirements.

Linguana optimizes the channels and manages appeal and whitelisting processes where needed, but exact timing can vary from channel to channel.

Can you pay me via PayPal or Payoneer instead of wire transfer?

In many cases, yes. If you prefer PayPal or Payoneer, simply send us the account email or identifier you would like us to use.

If a payment fails or is delayed, we may ask you to reconfirm your beneficiary details exactly as listed by your bank or payout provider.

I work with Yoola. How do I receive Linguana payouts?

Some creators request to receive payouts through Yoola. To receive payment this way, you must be approved by Yoola, set up your payment method directly inside the Yoola platform and sign their additional agreement. If you do not see the setup option or your earnings in Yoola, contact [email protected] so we can check your status.

Analytics & Data Access

How to access your dashboards, invitations, and performance data.

Can I access revenue analytics and performance data?

Yes. Partners receive access to analytics dashboards such as YouTube Studio and internal reporting tools where available. These dashboards allow you to track views, revenue, subscriber growth, and other key performance metrics.

Finalized revenue figures become available after YouTube completes its quarterly reconciliation process.

Why can’t I see final revenue numbers immediately?

YouTube finalizes revenue data around 2 to 3 weeks after the end of each quarter. Until then, only provisional estimates are available.

Final statements and payments are issued once verified data is released.

How do I find my YouTube Studio invitation?

If you cannot find your invitation:

  1. Open YouTube Studio
  2. Go to “Permissions” or “Pending Invitations”
  3. Check for invitations sent to the email associated with your YouTube account

If you still cannot locate it, let us know and we’ll resend the invitation.

Content & Compliance

Questions related to copyright, ad limitations, music usage, and thumbnails.

Why is my video blocked or ad-limited on YouTube?

Videos can become blocked or ad-limited for several reasons, including copyright claims, policy violations, or advertiser-friendly guideline issues.

If this happens, contact Linguana and we’ll investigate with YouTube support where relevant. We’ll also advise on possible next steps, such as appeals or edits.

What should I do if my video gets a copyright claim?

Please notify us with the details of the claim. We’ll review the situation and coordinate through YouTube’s rights-management systems where necessary.

In many cases, valid fair-use or licensed content can be reinstated after review or appeal.

How do you handle copyrighted music and whitelisting?

If your content includes copyrighted music or third-party audio, we may ask you to:

  • Whitelist the localized channels
  • Provide alternate music options
  • Share a list of copyrighted tracks during onboarding

This helps avoid copyright issues once the localized channels go live.

Do you create thumbnails and run tests?

Yes. Linguana can create thumbnails and run A/B tests to improve click-through rate and performance. If you prefer to continue using your own thumbnails, we can also test your versions against ours.

Publishing & Ongoing Support

What to expect after onboarding and how Linguana manages publishing and updates.

When will my channel or new content go live?

After content is received, there is usually a short review and quality-control process before publishing. Once the localized channel is live, we’ll notify you and share the links.

How do I contact the Linguana team?

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the partnerships team at [email protected].

Distribution and Monetization on Additional Platforms

Growing your global audience and revenue streams by syndicating your content on more platforms like Spotify and MSN

Can Linguana also distribute and monetize my localized and original-language content on other platforms?

Yes. Linguana can distribute and monetize both your original-language content and localized channels across platforms such as MSN, Spotify, Dailymotion, and others. This works under the same revenue-share agreement, with no additional operational work required from your side.

Which platforms does Linguana distribute content to?

Depending on the content type and eligibility, Linguana distributes creator content across platforms including:

We continuously explore new platforms and revenue opportunities to help creators maximize reach and earnings globally.

How does distribution to MSN, Spotify, or Dailymotion work?

Linguana handles the full operational process, including formatting, publishing, metadata optimization, platform management, and monetization setup. Both original-language and localized content can be distributed. Revenue generated from these platforms is shared under the same partnership structure as your localized YouTube channels.

Do I need to create or manage accounts on these platforms myself?

No. Linguana handles the operational side, including account management, publishing workflows, monetization setup, and ongoing optimization. The goal is to create additional reach and revenue for your content with minimal effort required from you.

Advertising & Brand Sponsorships

Extra revenue for you from brand integrations sourced and produced by Linguana

Does Linguana help creators secure advertising and sponsorship opportunities?

Yes. Linguana works with brands and agencies to create advertising opportunities across the channels we manage for you. This can include in-video sponsorship integrations and affiliate opportunities, that either have a global appeal or are designed specifically for each language audience.

How do sponsorship integrations work?

Linguana handles the full process, including identifying relevant brands, coordinating campaigns, producing the integration where needed using AI, and localizing campaigns across multiple languages and markets. The goal is to create incremental revenue opportunities with minimal operational involvement required from creators.

Can brand sponsorships appear in localized videos?

Yes. One advantage of localized distribution is the ability to adapt sponsorships for different countries and languages. In some cases, campaigns may run globally across multiple localized channels simultaneously, allowing brands to reach international audiences at scale.

Do I need to film additional sponsored segments?

There’s no extra work on your side. Linguana can produce and localize sponsored segments using existing content and AI-assisted production workflows.

How are advertising revenues shared?

Advertising and sponsorship revenues generated through Linguana-managed opportunities are typically shared under the terms outlined in the partnership agreement.
