Expanding Your Content Distribution & Monetization to Tubi: What Creators Need to Know
As part of Linguana’s mission to grow your global reach and revenue, we've partnered with Tubi, one of the world’s fastest-growing free streaming platforms. This partnership creates a new opportunity for creators to reach new audiences across streaming TV environments, and generate additional revenue from their existing content libraries, all with no additional production effort required from their side.
At this initial stage, we are focusing on distributing original-language content, particularly in English and Spanish, which align with Tubi’s strongest audiences and advertising markets. Below is a comprehensive FAQ explaining how the opportunity works and what creators can expect.
1. What is Tubi?
Tubi is one of the world’s leading free AVOD (Ad-supported Video on Demand) services, offering viewers a massive library of over 300,000 movies, TV shows, documentaries, and digital-first content. Unlike traditional subscription streaming services, Tubi is completely free for viewers and monetized through advertising. This creates a strong opportunity for creators because platforms like Tubi are heavily focused on maximizing viewer engagement and advertising inventory. The platform has grown rapidly in recent years and has become an increasingly important destination within the connected TV ecosystem, particularly in the United States and other high-value advertising markets. For creators, this represents an opportunity to expand beyond traditional social platforms and tap into a more premium, TV-style viewing environment.
2. What’s the opportunity for creators?
The opportunity is straightforward: your existing videos can generate additional reach and revenue on another major platform, without affecting your current YouTube business. At this stage, Linguana is focusing on distributing creators’ original-language channels and content libraries to Tubi, primarily in English and Spanish. This allows your content to reach audiences who consume video content through streaming TV platforms. Importantly, this is incremental distribution. Your YouTube content and monetization remain unchanged. Tubi simply becomes an additional destination where your videos can be discovered and monetized.
3. Which languages are currently supported?
At launch, the primary focus is on English and Spanish original-language content, as these currently align best with Tubi’s audience demand and monetization opportunities. Over time, we hope to expand the program further to include additional original languages and eventually localized language channels as well.
4. How does monetization work on Tubi?
Tubi monetization is advertising-driven, similar in principle to YouTube and other AVOD platforms. Revenue is generated based on factors such as audience size, watch time, viewer geography, and advertiser demand. One of the reasons this opportunity is particularly interesting is that RPMs on connected TV and streaming platforms like Tubi tend to be relatively strong. That said, because this is still an early-stage rollout, we cannot yet commit to specific earning expectations. Performance will vary depending on content category, audience engagement, geography, and advertiser demand. As usual, once content goes live and starts generating revenue, earnings will be shared with creators according to the same revenue-sharing agreement already in place with Linguana. This means there are no additional fees, no upfront costs, and no change to the existing partnership structure.
5. What type of content works well on Tubi?
Content that performs best on streaming and connected TV environments typically includes:
- Documentary-style storytelling
- Educational and explainer content
- News and current affairs
- History and geopolitics
- Business and finance
- Lifestyle and reality-style programming
- Evergreen long-form content
In general, content that keeps viewers engaged for longer periods of time tends to perform especially well in AVOD and connected TV ecosystems. Strong packaging, compelling storytelling, and bingeable formats are particularly valuable in this environment.
6. How does the distribution process work?
As with all Linguana partnerships, the process is fully managed end-to-end by Linguana, including onboarding, content delivery, publishing, optimization, and monetization management. There is no additional operational work required from creators.
7. Will this affect my YouTube channel or existing monetization?
No. This is incremental distribution designed to expand your reach beyond YouTube and generate additional revenue streams from your existing content library. Your YouTube channel, audience, and monetization remain entirely separate. The goal is simple: help creators build a broader global media business across multiple platforms and monetization sources.
8. How are payments and reporting handled?
All revenue generated through Tubi distribution will be tracked and reported through Linguana’s existing creator partnership structure. Creators will continue receiving payments under the same agreement already in place for other Linguana monetization opportunities.
Your Content, Everywhere.
The creator economy is rapidly expanding beyond a single platform. As streaming, connected TV, and AVOD platforms continue growing globally, creators now have an opportunity to distribute their content across a much broader media ecosystem, reaching audiences wherever they consume content and unlocking new monetization opportunities in the process. Expanding onto platforms like Tubi is another step toward helping creators build truly global, multi-platform content businesses. More platforms to come!
